Disaster Safe School Socialization Given to Teachers and Students in Thousand Islands

Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) socializes disaster safe school in two schools in Tidung Island, South Thousand Islands.

We explain about earthquake safety tips

Those schools are MTSN 26 Tidung Island and SMPN 241 Tidung Island. Each school sends 30 participants consist of teacher and students in this socialization.

Jakarta BPBD's Prevention and Preparedness Department Head, Joko Indro Martono mentioned, participants are taught about disaster management, early warning system, and victim evacuation.

City Intensifies SMAB Socialization in Schools

"We explain about earthquake safety tips such as evacuating or proper technique to cover ourselves and tsunami warning signs," he said, Friday (10/4).

Thousand Islands Regent, Husein Murad who also attended this socialization conveyed his gratitude for Jakarta BPBD who have educated students and teachers to be safe from disaster.

"Thank you for BPBD's hard work in preparing our schools and Thousand Islands residents to be more prepared and responsive toward disaster," he mentioned.

In this chance, Jakarta BPBD also distributes disaster safety kit, consist of first aid kit, life jacket, ropes, and TOA speaker that could be used for evacuating residents.
